The internet is full of gaming sites and projects that are difficult to find through ordinary searches. This guide covers PC games, repacks, open-source projects, indie games, abandonware and retro collections, fan-made remakes and ports, VR content, emulators, ROM tools, browser games, puzzle games, tabletop platforms, chess, card games, RPGs, strategy games, quizzes, Tetris, Pokémon, and GeoGuessr alternatives.

Below is a complete list organized by category. It retains direct links to services, mirrors, apps, supplementary tools, guides, and companion projects associated with each service.

Many file-hosting sites use buttons that lead to fake or malicious download pages. Use uBlock Origin and watch for unexpected redirects. For help identifying fake download pages, see the CS.RIN guide. As a rule of thumb, a real download usually starts on the host page itself, while new tabs and redirects may be deceptive.

Game repacks

Note

Repacks are compressed versions of games. They take up less space to download, but installation usually takes longer. This can be useful if your connection is slow or your data allowance is limited.
